The American Council for World Jewry condemns in the strongest possible terms the violent terrorist attack perpetrated by the Houthis on an oil facility in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This is not an isolated case – in fact, it is just the latest terrorist attack carried out by Iranian-backed Houthi rebels against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other countries in the region, including the United Arab Emirates, an Abraham Accords partner.

The Iranian proxy needs to be confronted, both by curtailing sources of financing and access to armaments. The international community must take action against the Houthis in order to prevent further escalation and counter efforts that seek to destabilize the broader region.
