The American Council for World Jewry hails Israeli President Herzog’s historic visit to Turkey and his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. This first high-level visit in Turkey from an Israeli leader in 14 years is an important step towards reversing the trend of estranged relations between the two countries and renewing their partnership.

Jack Rosen, Chairman of the American Council for World Jewry, praised the visit:

“The Israel-Turkey relationship has so much potential – if this potential is fully leveraged, not only both these countries stand to benefit, but the broader region as well. I take this opportunity to congratulate President Herzog for his leadership and applaud President Erdoğan for his commitment to opening a new chapter in the relations between the two countries. The Council looks forward to supporting these efforts and to contributing towards this rapprochement in any way possible.”
