Following confirmation by Israeli Prime Minister Lapid along with Turkish President Erdoğan of the return to full normalization between the two countries, the American Jewish Congress applauds both leaders in light of this pivotal development. Moreover, the notion of full normalization between Turkey and Israel represents a significant chapter in a rapidly evolving Middle East and will undoubtedly garner benefits for the people of Turkey and Israel alike. From travel to trade, from tourism to innovation, this major step is hopefully the first in a long line of prosperity – and again, the American Jewish Congress commends this important news.
Following announcement, American Council for World Jewry Chairman Jack Rosen released the following statement:
“News of renewed diplomacy between Israel and Turkey is a major step for peace, and the American Jewish Congress applauds all the leaders that were involved in this critical development. Dating back to 1949, when Turkey was the first Muslim majority country to recognize the State of Israel – the relationship between these two nations has been shrouded in exceptional importance. With this important resolution of diplomatic ties, safety and security are advanced, as are the stigmas of acceptance and tolerance in a region that needs it most.”

Bender, being God isn\’t easy. If you do too much, people get dependent on you, and if you do nothing, they lose hope. You have to use a light touch. Like a safecracker, or a pickpocket.
Hey, tell me something. You\’ve got all this money. How come you always dress like you\’re doing your laundry? Come, Comrade Bender! We must take to the streets! Oh, you\’re a dollar naughtier than most. We need rest. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is spongy and bruised.
For the last time, I don\’t like lilacs! Your \’first\’ wife was the one who liked lilacs! Goodbye, cruel world. Goodbye, cruel lamp. Goodbye, cruel velvet drapes, lined with what would appear to be some sort of cruel muslin and the cute little pom-pom curtain pull cords. Cruel though they may be…
