New York, NY – The American Council for World Jewry welcomed Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s remarks in support of Israel's sovereign rights and legitimate security concerns.
Council Chairman Jack Rosen said: "Secretary Clinton emphasized to an Arab audience that Israel is an independent, sovereign state with legitimate security concerns – it has to make its own decisions. Most importantly, she said this to an Arab audience in the Middle East, which needs to understand what is realistic for the United States and for Israel, and what is not."

New York, NY – The American Council for World Jewry welcomes the United States Senate’s ratification of New START, the successor to the Cold War-era Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty between the United States and the Russian Federation.
Council Chairman Jack Rosen said: “We have just returned from Moscow, where Russian leaders have expressed their readiness to deepen strategic and economic cooperation. Ratification of New START means that U.S. and Russian inspectors can again have reciprocal access to each side’s nuclear facilities, and that Russia’s indispensable support in global security – which includes blocking Iran’s rogue nuclear program – will not be impeded.

“We all feel the loss of a dedicated diplomat and friend. Dick Holbrooke was integral to peace and security in the post-Cold War era, right up to his final days. His courageous, hands-on diplomacy enabled our own ongoing outreach to Pakistan and other countries that hang in the balance. On behalf of the American Council for World Jewry, I extend our condolences to Kati Marton and his family, and to the entire U.S. diplomatic community that was his second home.”- Jack Rosen, Chairman, American Council for World Jewry
