Herbert I. London - President, Hudson Institute

Herbert I. London is president of the Hudson Institute, a world-renowned think-tank in Washington, DC. He is professor emeritus and the former John M. Olin Professor of Humanities at New York University. And he was responsible for creating the Gallatin School of Individualized Study in 1972 and was its dean until 1992. This school was organized to promote the study of "great books" and classic texts.

Hank Sheinkopf, president of Sheinkopf Communications Ltd., has been a political, public affairs and corporate media consultant for over 25 years. Sheinkopf has advised Democratic political campaigns at every level, from city council to President, in every region of the United States, and was a member of the Clinton-Gore 1996 Campaign Media team. Sheinkopf and his firm counsel corporations, associations and labor unions in developing message strategy, and mounting public relations and advertising campaigns. He has advised clients in such countries as South Africa, Germany, Venezuela, Aruba, the Dominican Republic and Mexico where, in 2000, he helped create media for Vicente Fox's successful election as president.

Sheinkopf's firm has been recognized for excellence by its peers numerous times over the years with national and international awards for media production and strategy. David Twersky was Director of International Programs at American Jewish Congress until March 2009, and a contributing editor at the New York Sun until its untimely closing in September 2008. From 1993-2002, he was Editor in Chief of the New Jersey Jewish News, the principal Jewish newspaper group in New Jersey. Previously, he was Associate Editor and Washington Bureau Chief of the Forward. He has written widely on Israel and American Jewry in The New York Times, Newsday, The New Republic, Commentary, Moment, Partisan Review, The Nation, Dissent, the London Review of Books, Tikkun, The Jerusalem Post, and The Star Ledger. He has served as a member of the board of trustees of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.

During his 12 years in Israel, where he lived on Kibbutz Gezer, Mr. Twersky was active in the kibbutz movement and the Labor party. He edited Shdemot — the Cultural Forum of the Kibbutz Movement and Spectrum — the Israel labor movement monthly, and helped manage two national election campaigns. A native of New York City where he graduated Ramaz and the City College of New York, he now lives in West Orange, NJ.
